Ifey Ikeonu is on the Board of Directors of PUTTRU. Ifey is the former Chairperson of the ECOWAS Regional Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERERA). She was instrumental in developing the regulatory framework for the regional electricity market in West Africa, these include the ECOWAS regional electricity market rules, the regional transmission tariff methodology, model power purchase and sales agreement for cross-border electricity trade as well as ERERA’s dispute resolution and enforcement procedures.

Prior to joining ERERA, she oversaw licensing and enforcement of contracts at the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

She is trained as an energy lawyer with over 25 years of experience and holds an MBA with specialization in Sustainability and Leadership from the University of Cumbria. Ikeonu is a strong advocate of gender mainstreaming in the energy sector.
